A field of study and approach to teaching that draws connections between human rights, animal protection, and environmental sustainability with the goal of preparing people to be compassionate, dedicated solutionaries, able to identify unjust, inhumane, and unsustainable systems and create solutions that enable people, animals, and nature to thrive.
Rare + Native Breed Conservation
A native breed is a breed of animal that must have existed in a particular area long enough to have become adapted to the local environment.
A rare breed is a breed that has a very small breeding population. Because of their small numbers, rare breeds may have a threatened conservation status, and they may be protected under regional laws.
Animal welfare education
Promote knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and values related to human involvement in the lives of animals. It includes the effects on animals’ abilities to satisfy their needs, and human responsibilities as a result. It can bring about beneficial changes in the treatment of animals at the hands of humans, but can stop short of bringing about lasting attitudinal change – especially if carried out in an instructional or piecemeal way.
Animal therapy
The use of animals as a way to help people cope with and recover from some physical and mental health conditions. Depending on the function of the therapy, various animals may be used. Animal assisted therapy is 1 therapeutic option, it can be a good choice for some people. The human-animal bond, which describes people’s desire to interact with and relate to animals. For many people, by interacting with a friendly animal, they can form a bond with them. This bond can produce a calming state in the person
